The BOCHK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION PRIZE

BOCHK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION PRIZE aims to promote Hong Kong’s strong capability in scientific research. This prize is open to all scientists and researchers who have completed outstanding scientific research achievements and transformed them into innovative technological applications with significant social or economic value. The selection is based on a peer review process that is independent of any commercial or political influence.

In addition to monetary rewards, top ten finalists of the writing competition also receive shopping vouchers and F&B perks at award ceremonies. This contest is a great opportunity for aspiring authors to build up their portfolio and network with other writers – just remember to thoroughly read the rules and regulations before applying!

Hong Kong is an energetic international center for culture and innovation. This spirit is reflected in the many talented local artists who have made their mark on the city’s art scene. The hk prize celebrates their achievements and gives them a platform to reach new audiences.

This year’s winner was Tsui Su-chi for her iconic style and contribution to the local art community. Her work, The Story of My Life, combines traditional Chinese elements with contemporary influences to tell the tale of her personal struggles. The judges were particularly impressed by the artist’s ability to convey the story without overstating the difficulties she has encountered.

The hk prize was established in 2022 and is a collaboration between the EU Office in Hong Kong and Macau and Goethe-Institut Hong Kong. This year’s recurring theme is Refugee and Migrant Rights, and it is co-sponsored by Justice Centre Hong Kong. This year, the arts prize is pleased to add an InkluVision Award supported by Goethe-Institut Hong Kong, which will recognize a piece of artwork that advocates an inclusive society without limitations and defines inspiring visions.

The winner of this prestigious award will have the opportunity to use leading research facilities in Hong Kong to advance their research, and they may even be invited to attend international conferences related to their field of study. In addition, they will be able to build a network of potential collaborators and gain access to international funding opportunities. The judging panel will take into consideration each candidate’s scientific and technical innovation achievements, the transformation of these innovations, and their impact on society or industry. They will also be evaluated on the creativity and originality of their work. Only one scientist or team will be awarded in each field each year. The winning research shall be published in a high-impact journal within two years of the date of the final assessment. The full terms and conditions can be found here.
