A TOWN HALL FORUM WITH PARLIAMENTARIANS

at the ASEAN Peoples’ Forum 2016 – Timor-Leste

ASEAN Parliamentarians for Human Rights (APHR) is a network of current and former legislators working to strengthen human rights and democracy in Southeast Asia. APHR supports its members through various means as they use their unique positions to highlight human rights concerns and strengthen the voices of civil society actors around ASEAN.

ASEAN Parliamentarians for Human Rights (APHR) is thrilled to host its second annual town hall meeting between parliamentarians and civil society organizations at the ASEAN Peoples’ Forum 2016. The event will provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between civil society and government and develop an ongoing dialogue to promote accountability. Current and former parliamentarians from eight countries will discuss human rights issues in the context of ASEAN integration and the regional trend of democratic erosion. They will also answer your questions from the floor.
